Hi! I hope someone can help us out here in this group.
I am looking for a program that does the following but so far, no go: I need to synchronize two sets of outlook contacts, my boss' and mine. We initially had the same database, but now she has changed hers and I have changed mine. What I am looking for is a synchronization option that does this: Mr. Smith in mine with a new phone number + Mr. Smith in hers with a new e-amil address would add up to one contact "Mr Smith" in both of our databases, which contains all of our new combined info. Instead, the programs I've seen so far will do this: Mr. Smith 1 in mine Mr Smith 2 in hers adds up both 1 and 2 separately in our own databases. So a bunch of duplicate contacts just because of one different piece of data such as an e-mail address or a phone number. OR they'll just delete her and replace it with mine or vice versa. So I'm looking for true synchronization. Does anyone know of a program that could do this? Thanks in advance for your help! Carmen |

What version of Outlook is this? I don't know about earlier versions of
Outlook, but in later ones, if you try to add a new contact to a folder that already has a contact with the same e-mail address, Outlook will ask if you want to merge them or create a new contact. I don't think it works with phone numbers, though. -- Jocelyn Fiorello *** Messages sent to my e-mail address will NOT be answered -- please reply only to the newsgroup to preserve the message thread. *** "Carmen Gauvin-O'Donnell" wrote: Hi! Hi Jocelyn... I've got 2007 and she has 2003. I hadn't thought of that
"merging" thing that Outlolok does, because we'd both been using 2000 for a number of years. Maybe I'll set up a couple of dummy databases and see what happens... Thanks! C. Let me know what happens. Dummy databases are definitely a good idea...no
sense mucking up the real ones till you see how well it works :-) -- Jocelyn Fiorello *** Messages sent to my e-mail address will NOT be answered -- please reply only to the newsgroup to preserve the message thread. *** "Carmen Gauvin-O'Donnell" wrote: Hi Jocelyn...
