Duplicate entries for contacts Outlook 2003
Just a few weeks ago I noticed that I have duplicate entries for all of my
contacts. I only see the duplicate entries if I search for a name. Example using the "address book" toolbar window I enter a name "jackbone" and in the search results window I see two entries. If I open the first and then run another search and then open the second I see that they are actually two different entries. When I look at the properties for each entry I see that they are both in the Location "Contacts" but the Size is different for each. In OL if I click on the "Contacts" icon in the left nav pane and open the contacts I don't see double entries. In the menu if I click on File and then select "Data File Management" I only see "Archive Folders" and Personal Folders". I use Active Sync to sync to my phone, the other day I was forced to create a new partnership and when I came time to sync the data I picked the option to replace everything on the phone with what was in OL, I then saw a message that 2900 contacts were being synced. I'm sure that I don't have more than 1200 contacts. On my phone when I look up a contact I only see one entry for each person. Just as a test I updated the first "jackbone" entry (in the search results) by changing the phone number. On the PC only the first entry was updated. On the phone I see the updated phone number and do NOT see the duplicate entry (never did) with the incorrect phone number. Any suggestions? |
