importing .pst files
I am trying to import old .pst files from a hard drive i have connected to a
new computer. The files are from outlook 2003, and the new computer also has the same version. Every time I try to open the old .pst using the 'open data file' option i get an error message and outlook needs to restart. Can anyone help me to retrieve the old contact information? Thanks in advance, Andrew |

Hi Gordon, I did not use the import function - I used the open 'data file'
option and then chose the old pst. from its location. Andrew "Gordon" wrote: "doodles" wrote in message ... I am trying to import old .pst files from a hard drive i have connected to a new computer. I have moved pst to internal HDD, but still getting error message.
Where would read only attribute be? The folder the pst is in does not have any such file. "Gordon" wrote: "doodles" wrote in message ... I have done as you say, and indeed errors were found in the pst file. I then reaired the files and attempted to reopen in outlook as data file but once again, error report: AppName: outlook.exe AppVer: 11.0.8206.0 AppStamp:479fce0d ModName: msmapi32.dll ModVer: 11.0.8200.0 ModStamp:472f94b0 fDebug: 0 Offset: 000ff6b7 Have you any further suggestions?
