Fields reverting on the contacts

I have about 9 users sharing 5 different contacts we created in outlook
2003.These contacts have customised fields.For some reason,fields on the
contacts keeps
reverting to the fields from one of the 5 contacts.This doesn't happen to a
certain contact and affects all 5 contacts.Is there anyway of
locking all the fileds to the respective contact lists?Any help would be
greatly appreciated.
