"Find" contact in Outlook 2003 not working
It works fine in my own Contacts file, but I'm AdminAsst here and share 5
other people's Contacts to add and delete Contacts.... all but one shared Contacts works fine.... whenever I enter a name to "Look for" it always comes up as "No items found" when I can actually see the name I just searched for and know it's there! Just this one person's contacts I'm having trouble with, but I can still add or delete information in their contacts... so it's not like I don't have permission. This person happens to be my BOSS and she recently got a Blackberry or something like it so she could download all her Outlook Contacts into it, and that may be the problem, but I don't know what to do about it. |

You need to enable that Contacts Folder as an Outlook Address book.
Right click the Contacts folder, Properties, Adress Book, tick the box to show as an Outlook address book. (bear with me if the wordings are slightly off - I do not use 2003 any more) Regards Judy Gleeson MVP Outlook Trainer and Consultant www.pragmatix.com.au Outlook 2003 user? after right-clicking contacts folder/properties..... Address Book is not on
any of the three tabs that appear. I checked other workers properties to see if they're the same as the one I'm having trouble with, and they're exactly the same.... with no "Address Book" to tick off. Like I said below.... right-click on properties - and there's no "Address
Book" to select, as Judy Gleason directed. "Brian Tillman" wrote: KathrynR wrote: after right-clicking contacts folder/properties..... Address Book is not on any of the three tabs that appear. When I open the Properties tab on the Person's Contacts folder, Address Book
is nowhere on any tab in the Properties. Can't figure out what to do to fix this problem of not being able to search her contacts. Did you check to see if you even installed the Outlook Address Book Service
in this profile? http://support.microsoft.com/default...Product=ol2002 -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "KathrynR" wrote in message ... I think we missed a step here as you are not on the right computer to fix
this: go to the person's computer that you want to fix - NOT yours and follow my instructions. Richt click the Contacts Folder | Properties | address Book | check the box to Show as an Outlook Address Book. If that box is greyed out, go back and follow Russ' link.
