outlook contact (personal folders) has detected errors in file
 

Outlook will not go into old contact and other personal folders.
The message reads:
Unable to expand the folder, The set of folders could not be opened. Errors
have been detected in the file C:\Documents and Settings\RMS00\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst. Quit all
mail-enabled applications, and the use the inbox repair tool.

I have run detect and repair but it has not done any good. Cannot locate the
"inbox repair tool" as the message states. Please help. Outlook has set up
all new files - have lost all contacts and saved e-mails in folders.

Look for ScanPST.EXE. It's the Inbox Repair Tool. For OL2007 it should be in
the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12 directory

I did find the ScanPST.exe file and tried to scan the file - it went thru
phase 1-8 and 4-8 fine but as it went into phase 7-8 a message came up:

An error has occurred which caused the scan to be stopped. No changes have
been made to the scanned file.

Any suggestions? Thank you,

It's a long shot but try running a disk check on the machine to make sure
there aren't any issues there.
