I have some 7 contacts in my Distribution List A. Can I open the Distribution List, add two more contacts, remove 3 existing and save the distribution list as B which way distribution list A will not be affected.
Can someone please clarify if this is possible? If so, how can it be done? Thanks EggHeadCafe - Software Developer Portal of Choice Use Assembly Helper Class to retrieve Information on any assembly http://www.eggheadcafe.com/tutorials...per-class.aspx |

Why wouldn't you just create a copy of the DL, amend it as desired, rename
it, and save it? -- Russ Valentine "Charles H" wrote in message ... I have some 7 contacts in my Distribution List A. First, sorry for the cross post. I did not know different forums for
Outlook would publish my questions to the same newsgroup. On Oct 15, 3:51*pm, "Russ Valentine" wrote: Why wouldn't you just create a copy of the DL, amend it as desired, rename it, and save it? I could, but it is for an office where I am working where people do not want to. They think just as you can open a Word Document "A", change it and save it as "B" word document in which we get a new word document "B" and "A" is untouched. We can do similar things in Outlook contact list also. Thanks |

Open trhe copy, giving it the name B and making the membership changes you like. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Not sure why you asked the question if you already knew there were other
requirements you had not specified. If it is necessary to use Outlook in a way it was not designed then you either need educate your users or find some other product that might fit their idiosyncrasies. Good luck with that. -- Russ Valentine "s" wrote in message ... First, sorry for the cross post. I did not know different forums for Outlook would publish my questions to the same newsgroup. Thanks for the reply. I asked the question as I thought there might be a way to do that in Outlook which I did not know. But, you are correct, I should have mentioned all the requirements in the first question. The office thinks there might be a way to do it programmatically using some VBA coding and I am inept as I don't know how to do that. But, as you suggest if there is no way, I can now tell them confidently, it can't be done. I did not want to tell them that, until I was certain of that. Thanks again. |

Well you could ask in a programming group, but I'm betting programmers (like
most users) avoid using DL's like the plague. -- Russ Valentine "s" wrote in message ...
