I have some 7 contacts in my Distribution List named "A". Can I open the
Distribution List "A", add two more contacts, remove 3 existing contacts and save the distribution list as "B" by which distribution list "A" will not be affected. "B" distribution list will have the changed distribution list of 6 people. "A" will have the same 7 which it had before. I am using MS Outlook 2007. Can someone please clarify if this is possible? If so, how can it be done? Thanks |

You need to reverse the order of steps a bit: Make a copy first, with the
Edit | Copy to Folder command. Then rename the copy and make your changes to it. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook 2007 Programming: Jumpstart for Power Users and Administrators http://www.outlookcode.com/article.aspx?id=54 "m_s" wrote: I have some 7 contacts in my Distribution List named "A". Well, I choose the DL, go to Edit-Copy, Then Edit-Paste and a new list is created with the same name(don't understand how that occurs as I thought names have to be unique). Then, I change the newly created list's name and make updates to it. Am I doing things correctly? |

Yes, that's more or less the procedure that I suggested you follow. (The
Copy to Folder command cuts down on a step by combining the Copy and Paste operastions.) Names of folders have to be unique at each level in the hierarchy, but not names of items. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook 2007 Programming: Jumpstart for Power Users and Administrators http://www.outlookcode.com/article.aspx?id=54 "s" wrote in message ...
