When entering information in my contacts, all of a sudden the line spacing
changes from single to double. How can I fix that?

You would need to post precisely how you are entering Contact information,
including the view. Then you can hope that there is still someone around
here who can remember a version that has been dead for so long and is out of
support. That won't be I.
