add individual items into Outlook
Hi, everybody,
Is it possible to add a user-specified item into Outlook? Similiar to notice or job, I'd like to add one new item "project". It should have own properties and can be created like others e.g. through "New- Projekt". I'd appreciated it if you give me some idea how to realize this. regards Lucia |

Well, you could use the design capability of Outlook and customize a contact form to your needs, then publish it to the Organizational Forms Library, if you have an Organizational Forms Library, which depends upon your having an Exchange Server and an Exchange Administrator in your organization. While that may be possible, if you have reasonable development skills, it still involves a lot of discovery about how things work, and may prove unsatisfory to you in the long run. And it certainly entails a lot of duplication. You could just go with MS Project, which provides a whole lot more functionality, out of the box, than you could put into a custom Outlook form. You should also look for a project form add-in on www.slipstick.com. There are hundreds of utilities and add-ins that customize the capabilities of Outlook and Exchange, if you have Exchange. -- Hollis Paul Mukilteo, WA USA |
