InfoPath 2007 Forms sent to Outlook 2007 not rendering correctly
 

So I understand that Outlook 2007 has changed to use the html engine in Word
2007 rather then the IE html engine. So when I send one of my InfoPath forms
from SharePoint to Outlook 2007 the form does not render correctly. If you
ask to view the email in a browser it looks fine. So wouldn't a Micosoft
Product be able to render and display correctly in another Microsoft
Product?????

There are such things as unintended consequences. A new analgesic
medicine for cows was introduced into India, Pakistan, and Nepal, so

Think of Microsoft Office products as a herd of sacred cows. You do an
operation on one member and give it a new medicine, and are surprised
that when another eats the former's cud, it looks strange?

InfoPath 2007 can do forms a couple of different ways. Is this one using a forms server? Is InfoPath installed on the client, as well as Outlook 2007

I am using InfoPath Services with MOSS 2007. The form is filled out in a
broswer and sent via email. I can not rely on wether or not the person being
sent to has InfoPath installed as these forms will be sent to external
customers.

I have discovered that HTML pages I created (and that display correctly in
IE) could be pasted into my Outlook 2003 emails and render correctly.
However, since upgrading to Outlook 2007, these HTML pages now render with
additional spacing between .gif objects that I cannot seem to remove.

This creates the dillema of whether to code my HTML newsletters to render
correctly in Internet Explorer, or in Outlook 2007. It appears that I can no
longer have both.

If you're sending externally, then you may find it better to use the Access 2007/Outlook 2007 data collection technique detailed at http://blogs.msdn.com/access/archive...30/652837.aspx. I've tested this even with browser-based mail like Gmail and found that it worked fine.
