Word as Outlook Editor
Office 2003, Win XP Pro
Are there any significant advantages or disadvantages to using Word as the editor for Outlook. The default Office install makes it so. Many end-users leave it so. We can use administrative template to force it to use Outlook as editor and use Rich Text. I'd like to make a good case for implementing the policy (beyond consistency for support purposes). Are there any good reasons I can offer? And is there code I can use to force Outlook to use the Outlook editor when I'm creating a message from another application (like copying the text in a Word document and inserting it as the body of an e-mail message). Word as Outlook Editor
With Outlook 2003 WordMail isn't as bad as it was with earlier versions of
Outlook.. I don't use it myself but that's a personal preference. No way to force one email to use the Outlook editor if the user is set up for WordMail. All the properties that tell you an item is a WordMail item are read-only. Changing the registry setting for using WordMail won't work unless Outlook is closed and restarted after that registry setting is changed. -- Ken Slovak [MVP - Outlook] http://www.slovaktech.com Author: Absolute Beginner's Guide to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 Reminder Manager, Extended Reminders, Attachment Options http://www.slovaktech.com/products.htm "Ridge Kennedy" wrote in message ...
