Whoo hoo, One problem solved, another still existing. I was able to find the
answer to the address book problem by using Contacts/properties/address
book/show this folder as an email address book....

But isn't the contact folder is WITHIN the address book?

I click address book/file/new entry/add to contact list. Then after I add
the name and email address and click "save and close", I get...

Yes, I have gone completely out of outlook and rebooted the computer. No,
that doesn't help.

I also just found out that I cannot add email addresses to my address book.
I get the same error...
