sending appointments emails to attendees

When I try to send an appointment to attendees in Outlook 2003, I get a

When I create a new contact Outlook 2003 saves it as a private contact
automatically. Can I turn this off as I don't want them to be private?

how do I stop contacts being private by default?

When I create a new contact in Outlook 2003 and save it, Outlook 2003 makes
it private. So even though I haven't ticked the box to make it private, next
time I open the contact the private box is...
