Disable automatic receive

Before I installed Outlook 2007, I had things set up so that my email

Send/Receive suddenly disabled

My Send/Receive button highlights when I point at it and changes color
when I click, but then nothing happens. The same is true of the
Send/Receive button on the Mail Setup tab of the Options...

I took your advice and created a new profile, then imported all my
data from the old pst file. Everything seems to be there except for my
email account information, which I suppose I'll now have to...

To retrieve an old email, I placed a backup .pst file on my desktop
and opened it from within Outlook 2003. I found the message I wanted
and then deleted the .pst file before closing it from within...

The only problem with it is that it's cumbersome. Control clicking on
