outlook 2003sp3: applying the inbuilt junkmail filter on existing messages?

would like to apply the outlook junk mail filter, with settings set to

the above option is greyed out by me ('delete alternate versions of
items in your mailbox', with a button for deleting them and viewing the
conflicts size) - does anyone have any idea how to...
