When reformatting a computer is there a way to save OE settings and messages
and address book externally and then restore them to the reformatted
machine? I think the .wab file will save the...

Thanks for your reply. I have been doing your "future hints" below all
along and do not use OE that much anyway. It is possible that my OE
identity IS corrupted but all else works just fine. ...

OE6 compacts on close always

Every time I close Outlook Express I am now getting this message: "To free
up disk space, Outlook Express can compact messages. This may take up to a
few minutes. OK or Cancel." This has happened...
