Strange behavior of "Outlook Express"

I am using Windows XP on Drive D:. When I open Outlook Express and click
the Newsgroup icon, I am presented with a "Newsgrups Subscription" dialog
box with the name of a single "Newsgroup", in it...

Sent email messages not being saved in "Sent Items" folder.

Sent email messages not being saved in "Sent Items" folder.

When I send an email message, a copy should be deposited in the "Sent Items"
folder. For some reason it is not. My "Sent Items" folder contains nothing
but newsgroup messages that I have sent.
