Evidently SecureAlertSpamblocker was causing the problem .
I've used it for some time with no problem , but something about the program
must have changed . I turned it off , and OE is working fine...

I checked both places and OE is not listed .
I will go through my antivirus scans and see if that is the problem .

I am using OE6 / XP2 / IE7
I do not use mcafee products .
I do use an email scanner.
To close OE , I have to ctrl/alt/delete
Until I close OE in this manner , it cannot be reopened.
