Keyboard changes

I am using Outlook 2002 on XP home.

Some days the keyboard is UK as used on every other program and pressing
'Shift top row 3' I get '£' as it should be.

Other days I get '#', so something is wrong...

But when Outlook 2002 decides to place some incoming mail into the wrong
folders, under 'Inbox', how does one correct this fault. It's annoying as
the reply is sent using the address of the wrong...
