In reading Outlook phone numbers from a contacts folder I saw that the
numbers are returned in a format that confuses and slows down
searches required by CTI system. It required a lot of templates...

How to create a field applicable to all contacts

In my experiments it Outlook I see that Outlook allows user-defined
fields, but I haven't seen a way to create a user defined field for
the whole contact database.
