That is how deleting with IMAP accounts works. Use a view that hides
deleted messages so you don't see them and set the purge options to purge
when you change...

I am using Outlook 2007 as an IMAP client on a non-exchange mailhost.
Works oke, but the only annoying thing is that I set my rules on moving
messages to certain message folders, it does not...
