Hey Tim, typed in alt 36 and got a spade sign.

checked out accessibility in the control panel and it says sticky fingers is
NOT in use. Keyboard is about 4 years old...will try swapping it out...

Ok, I did this while trying to type a message in an open email as well as
typing in a password and I still got the same garble.
