Outlook 2007 is freezing up on indexing contacts

I have the same problem, indexing never finishes. How else would one get
their contacts into Outlook? I imported them from a pst from Office 2003.
Indexing did not ever complete. I reinstalled...

I have Office 2007.

In Outlook Contacts, the default in each contact for e mail addresses is 3 e
mail addresses. Is it possible to increase that number?
