i guess the problem
is now resolved.
i only had one identity
anyways.
but logging off seemed
to have triggered a
corrective action.

ok, i opened the sound
mgr and discovered it
is the exclamation.
i set it to none and
the bleeping dinging
sounds are gone.
but now the question is
what/where is exciting
