You are right..Even I dont want to delete the mailbox. Upgrading to outlook
is a sure fix, but I am more interested to understand why it is not working
with outlook 2000 when outlook 2003 is just...

We have tried all possible options. Irrespective of the desktops we tried,
the issue remains the same..This is in particluar to do something with the
mailbox with regards to outlook 2000 as things...
