Twice what you previously had. Each additional bit in binary doubles
the possibilities. One bit can describe two states, two can describe
four, three can describe eight, etc...

Most 7-bit systems...

Scanning Email With An Anti-Virus Program

The redundancy is in the fact that the client's scanner that scans
the incoming e-mail is the same engine that would scan at the
filesystem level anyway. The only time such a feature would be
of use...
