Do you sync with a PDA or smartphone? If so, check the settings on the device
- how long is it set to keep appointments?

How can I clear my calendar easily on a given day

If these are meetings or recurring events, no. You need to respond to each
appointment's prompt.

Single appointments should delete easily, no prompts.
