After the time change on Sunday all appointments in Outlook moved ahead one
hour. Is there any way to keep that from happening? An 8:00 appointment
should still be 8:00 but it is now 9:00.

I am also having this problem, but I believe it is only with the appointments
that were entered on my PDA, and then synced with my regular outlook. In
researching the problem, I came across a less than satisfactory response from
an MVP in 2005:
"There are seldom technological solutions for behavioral problems." Your
daylight savings time settings are incorrect under either Control
Panel-Regional Settings or Outlook Calendar Options? Why blame the program
when you are responsible for setting the parameters?

settings that addressed time zones or DST.

I took the check mark out of Outlook/tools/Options/Calendaring/TimeZone/
"Adjust for Daylight Saving time." my appointment went back to the correct
time BUT my time on the computer went back an hour. I only thing I have found
so far is to move my appointment back to the correct time up to October when
time changes again. Microsoft "I think" likes to make things complicated and
blame the user.

When you set your Windows clock and check the Time Zone settings under Date
and Time (DST checked) and you have done the same in Outlook Calendar
options for DST checked, all works as expected. If something is out of
step, you will find problems. If you have a PDA, you will also need to
check that option in the settings.

If I would have had my time zone set to the (GMT -5:00) Eastern Time (US &
Canada) but just not had the box checked over the last years that Indiana
did not change time in the Spring and Fall would my Outlook calendar
appointments have moved ahead if I simply checked the box for my server and
workstations to change automatically or would the appointments still move
ahead? If I understand the Microsoft paper correctly the appointments would
stay the same.

I found a Microsoft workaround to resolve my appointment issue but I can
find the address now. Basically it said to export the Calendar Appointment
to a file before changing the Time Zone, Change the time Zone to the desired
zone and Import them back into the calendar. It also said that the
(GMT -5:00) Indiana (East) time zone was obsolete now.

A repost from an earlier post I answered tonight:

"As explained by Indiana resident Russ Valentine MVP - Outlook, the Indiana
mess is so fouled up that any suggestion for how to fix the appointments
will only engender frustration, outrage, and flaming alcoholism. (yeah, I
meant that flaming part!)

You are probably best served by selecting the time zone and DST settings
that work for you and then adjust the times individually for those items
with messed up times."

This happened to me too. I do not have a PDA interface, I use Outlook
directly for recording my appointments. All appointment times were set to 2
hours later than they were supposed to be. We are running Office Calender
Server, but the times were changed only on my calendar (where they were
originally entered). All appointments after the DST change date were
affected, both single instance and recurring. Appointments in the calendar
before the 2nd were not affected. This strikes me as a "bug".

Hello. (issue takes place on fully patched W2K3/Ex2K3 server)

Since DST, earlier this month, my client's public calendaring events have
all shifted forward one hour. Server & clients are all set to Eastern time
(auto adjust for DST checked). Outlook calendar options are also set to
Eastern time and auto adjust for DST.

This has never happened in the past. Calendar entries previous to DST are
correctly posted. The only fix I can see on this kb is a manual edit by
entry owners or to export to csv/excel, edit and reimport. This is
cumbersome for an organization that makes extensive use of calendars.

While there are pay software solutions out there, it seems that Microsoft
should offer some fix for this?
