I have a fully functioning MS Outlook installation except when I open my
calendar the egg timer appears and the calendar does not open. I have checked the system date time and location, the IE defaults and other basic checks. I have even uninstalled Office and reinstalled it. All tools and applications are running from the hard disks. Can anyone suggest a solution please? |

Have you tried a new mail profile? Does any other folder hang when
accessed? What version of Outlook? -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without reading. Many thanks for your reply... yes I understand now that more detail is
helpful.. sorry. The Outlook version is Outlook 2000 within Office 2000. No, no other folder hangs, and all else functions. No I have not tried a new profile but I will give that a go. PS, now do you add a new profile in Outlook 2000.
Your advice to another user points at the control panel and the mail icon, but the option for profile is not visible as the icon selection generates the add new mail account dialouge box. You appear to be using Outlook 2000 in Internet Mail Only mode which doesn't allow you to manipulate your mail profile. The only way to create a new one is to edit the registry. Brian, I really really really appreciate the help.
I was beginning to panic. But The path you gave for the registry entry does not exist. This is an XP Professional OS with Microsoft Office 2000 and I cannot find the path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Messaging Is there a more generic location for the registry entry please Brian?
