Default Resource Scheduling Issue

Exchange 2003 SP1 and Outlook 2003, latest updates.

I'm having an issue with 2 conference rooms that I just set up. I added the
user account to Active Directory, creating a mailbox on the exchange server.
I logged in as each user, setup outlook and went to the Resource Scheduling
button under calendering options, putting a check mark in 'Automatically
accept meeting requests and process cancellations' and 'Automatically
decline conflicting requests'.

I then logged off as those users and logged in as myself. I sent a meeting
request and received nothing back (waited about 30 minutes). I then went
and logged in as the conference room user, opened outlook and waited without
doing anything else. Within a minute or two, the meeting request was
accepted. So I logged off as the conference room user and tried it again,
but it still wasn't being accepted without the conference room user logged
in without outlook open.

Shouldn't it accept/declince automatically without the virtual conference
room users logged in with outlook open? What am I missing?

Thanks,
Mike

Default Resource Scheduling Issue

You need to invite the rooms as Resource attendees, not Required or Optional, if you want the automatic direct booking feature to work.
