Default Outlook calendar - reminders

Is it possible to get a popup reminder if Outlook isn't running? I'd
like to have any reminders that are set in Outlook Calendar to show up
when they are due but even if Outlook isn't up.

thanks,
russ

I figured as much.

Is there an Outlook command line switch that would let me run Outlook
every once in awhile (using XP's Task Scheduler) just to generate
Calendar reminders - then kill Outlook?

I'm just trying to get around having to manually start Outlook to get
any reminders.

later,
russ

There are third party utlities that will open a stub of Outlook to allow for
reminders and new mail notifications. Magic Mail Monitor has had quite
favorable reviews from MVPs.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, Russ asked:
