Default Calendar meetings received look like regular emails

We are using Outlook 2002 SP3. We have a user who receives meeting requests
(from an outside group) to accept or decline. When he receives these, they
look just like an empty email. Only when he sorts these by moving them into a
folder - does the meeting agenda show up. I have tried creating a new
profile.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
