Default CALENDAR NO LONGER SAVES MY APPOINTMENTS "COULDNOT SAVE ITEM"

For some unknown reason I can my calendar doesn't save my appointments at
time of input. "Microsoft Office Outlook"
"Couldnot save item"
"OK"
I obvioulsy did something that turned off the save feature in Outlook but I
haven't a clue what it could have been or what to do.
