Default Invites won't send - they get stuck in Outbox?

We inadvertently accepted an "auto update" last week and since then "invites"
in the Calendar will not send - the email address are valid - message will
send - but not Calendar invites.

2003 SP2

I've tried rebooting - no help.

Any suggestions?
