Default How to prevent overlapping appointments in shared calendars

My agency uses Outlook 2003 and Exchange Server 6.5.7638.1. We have several
shared calendars for our agency cars that were created by adding mailboxes
and sharing the calendars from there. Occaisonally, we have a situation
where 2 people reserve a car for the same time. How can I prevent
overlapping appointments on these calendars? Thanks in advance for your help.
