Default Meeting notices are updating calendar directly

Hello,
O.S: Windows XP SP2
MS Office: Office 2003.

Whenver someone sends me meeting notices, my calendar gets updated
automatically without any alert to accept or reject the notice.
I checked with other people and they are getting alerts to accept or
reject the notice.

Any suggestions how to get meeting alerts and stop them updating my
calendar.

Regards,
Faisal.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, asked:

I can't explain why changing that setting didn't work. What build number of Outlook? Check the Help | About screen.
