I am having a problem syncing my Outlook Calendar with my ipod, or anything
else for that matter and I wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that I suddenly show 11 calendars in "my calendars". I have no idea where they came from, or how to get rid of them. Any suggestions? When I try and open them, the same calendar opens over and over again. I did apply a flight itinerary from NWA to my calendar and I think that is when the additional ones showed up, but now I can't find them to delete them. |

Diane, I do use a Pop3 exchange server but I guess I don't quite understand
your question. I haven't actually tried to delete any of the calendars beacuse they are all the same and I am afraid to lose all my data....it is my Bible for my boss and myself. If I lose the info, it would NOT be pretty! Since I don't know where the "extra" calendars came from, I haven't deleted anything. Do I have to open up all 11 individually to drag them to a file for deletion? Nancy "Diane Poremsky [MVP]" wrote: are you using exchange server mailbox or pop3/imap/msn? do you get an error if you try to delete newest one? to quickly get rid of folders quickly, drag them into another folder that will be deleted then delete it - this is faster than deleting each one individually. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Coauthor, OneNote 2003 for Windows (Visual QuickStart Guide) Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: "NurseNancy" wrote in message ... Diane, I just discovered something else....when I try and delete the
calendars, it says that I can't, that it is a "special file" and special files cannot be deleted. There MUST be a way to remove this stuff, I would think....I would HOPE anyway. It is annoying. I guess I know less than I thought I did....what does a new mail profile have
to do with my calendar? I am not using a web based calendar, just the one in my outlook. I am not sharing it with anyone. I don't understand what mail has to do with the appointments I enter into my outlook calendar. Maybe that is my problem, I don't have a clue what I am doing! :-) "Brian Tillman" wrote: NurseNancy wrote: Diane, I just discovered something else....when I try and delete the calendars, it says that I can't, that it is a "special file" and special files cannot be deleted. Maybe that is my problem, I don't have a clue what I am doing! :-) A mail profile is a series of keys in the Windows registry that keeps track of what services are available to Outlook. Those services include the Personal Folders service (so Outlook can find your folders), the Outlook Address Book service (so Outlook can turn Contact names into email addresses), as well as others. You appear to have created more calendars or PSTs (Personal Folders files) than you need. Try what Diane suggests first and if you still have problems, post back. -- Brian Tillman |

this is what I wondered - that means at least one is set to be your default
calendar. Now to make sure I'm clear on the problem, are the 11 in one pst or do you have multiple pst's showing? If one pst, they are probably named calendar, calendar1, calendar2 etc. If the names are identical, use the folder list view (ctrl+6) and see if you have several sets of inboxes etc. This would mean your profile is corrupt and you'll need to make a new profile. See http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/open_pst.htm if you need help reusing your current pst. If they are named calendar, calendar1 etc, only the last one (i.e., Calendar11) should error when you try to delete. Drag the others to the deleted items folder or into one of the other calendar folders and delete it. Because the sync software created them, each should have identical events. also, restart outlook using the /resetfolders switch. if you need help using switches: http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/switches.htm -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Author, Teach Yourself Outlook 2003 in 24 Hours Coauthor, OneNote 2003 for Windows (Visual QuickStart Guide) Need Help with Common Tasks? http://www.outlook-tips.net/beginner/ Outlook 2007: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ol2007/ Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Subscribe to Exchange Messaging Outlook newsletter: "NurseNancy" wrote in message ...
