Default Associate appointments with contacts - can't be done ? Very odd.

I still don't understand why Outlook Contacts can't be associated with
appointments.
I want to either drag and drop or choose a contact some how ... and
that contact is easily visible on my schedule.

Any suggestions ?

I am using both outlook 2003 and 2007 - neither of which has this
*BASIC* need. crazy.
