Hi Anton,
with Exchange Server or without? The default groupware for Outlook ist Exchange Server. If you have a peer to peer network, you could try this sites with 3rd party solutions: Office Marketplace Outlook messaging tools: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ma...719621033.aspx Outlook sharing solutions: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/share.htm Maybe it helps. -- Oliver Vukovics Share Outlook without Exchange: Public ShareFolder Freeware for Outlook: Public Mail 2 Contact http://www.publicshareware.com "Anton" schrieb im Newsbeitrag ... Hi Oliver
Thanks for your reply. At this stage we don,t have an exchange server. From the discussions in this group it seems as if Exchange is the only solution. Would Small Bussiness Server also work? That would mean a new dedicated PC would'nt it? Was this sharing limitation of Outlook not perhaps adressed is the new 2007 Office release? Hi Anton,
Exchange Server is not the only solution to share a calendar in Outlook. Microsoft recommends this solution and nearly all MVPs for Outlook recommend this solution, but it is not the only solution. I prefer this solution without an additional Server/Workstation. It works also in a Peer-to-Peer network: http://www.publicshareware.com Would Small Bussiness Server also work? That would mean a new dedicated PC would'nt it? Right. The SBS wouldnt work in a Peer-To-Peer network, you will need a dedicated server. I need to have about four people to have access to the same calandar and address book. The problem with the solutions on the links you provided is that they all work through e-mailing the info. I need the people to be able to work on the calendar and address book at the same time? All four creating diary appointments and accessing contacts. Is this at all possible in outlook? Was the sharing issue not corrected in Outlook 2007? Anton "Oliver Vukovics" wrote: Hi Anton, Exchange Server is not the only solution to share a calendar in Outlook. Hi Anton,
The problem with the solutions on the links you provided is that they all work through e-mailing the info. Not all. I prefer this solution without an additional Server/Workstation. It works also in a Peer-to-Peer network: http://www.publicshareware.com This program (Public ShareFolder) is a simultaneously access (live) to the shared PST files, it is not a synchronization. It is real time. Was the sharing issue not corrected in Outlook 2007? No. PST files are for Microsoft "Personal STores" and can not be shared. There are some default "sharing" possibilities: On this site is an article on various ways to share Outlook data: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...477571033.aspx but also this possibilities are no live sharing solutions. -- Oliver Vukovics Share Outlook without Exchange: Public ShareFolder Synchronisation for Notebooks: Public SyncTool http://www.publicshareware.com "Anton" schrieb im Newsbeitrag ... Hello, Anton!
The cheapest way is to use solution based on emails sending... for example: http://shareo.4team.biz/?pcode=607180190pwkkd3 But if you would like to avoid email sharing you can use service and synch via someones server for example this one: www.outshare.com/ I would suggest the first one - cheaper and more stable... but it depends on situation Regards, Julia |

SMall Business Server standard edition includes Exchange server and 5 CALs. It might be a very cost effective expenditure, especially if your organization will be growing. You can purchase a Windows 2003 server preconfigured with Exchange and SharePoint services and have the vendor set up everything for your company. You might then want to contract with a local support person to do quarterly maintenance.
