Default can you do a system restore on office 2000?

I'm in turmoil, I installed office 2003 on my pc, system crashed.....I was
using outlook for calendar etc, that vansihed too, I uninstalled 2003
thinking my system would default back to 2000, now I've lost my calendar and
contacts. Is there a way to do a system restore on Windows/Office 2000? This
is five years worth of data and a daily meeting room calendar. I would be
grateful of any help, if possible I would like to be e-mailed answers as well
as posted, my personal e-mail is
BTW I did actually back up my outlook 2000 on
hard drive and CD, but can't seem to open it??

Since installing and uninstalling Outlook dioesn't affect your data, the
most likely thing that happened was that the installation created either a
new mail profile or a new PST, hiding your data. Since you have Outlook
2000 reinstalled, you have one of two modes: Internet Only or
Corporate/Workgroup. HelpAbout will tell you if you don't know. If you're
using C/W mode, it might be best to create a new mail profile with the Mail
applet in Control Panel.

To add your previous data back into Outlook, click FileOpenPersonal
Folders File and browse to your previous PST. It's usual location depends
on your Windows version. For current versions of Windows, it's in the
(usually hidden) folder
C:\Documents and Settings\{yourusername}\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook. Select it, click OK, and it will be added to your
current mail profile. Make it your delivery location, stop and restart
Outlook, and you should be back in business. How to make it your delivery
location depends on the mode of Outlook, so if you can't figure it out
yourself, you'll have to post back with your mode. It will either be under
ToolsServices or FileProperties.
