Default Cannot change appt after migration to 2003

After migration from exchange 2000 to exchange 2003 the owner of a reoccuring
appointment cannot make changes to appointments migrated. Appointments
entered since the migration can be changed. Any help on where to look would
be appreciated.

Is there an error message or can you provide more information about what
happens.

Thanks

No error - When appointment is opened by the authore it is opened read-only.
The author's permissions are create items, read items, edit own items and
delete own items.
