Default overriding excel schedule imported into outlook

I have project tasks and dates in a spreadsheet that i have imported into my
outlook calendar. When dates change, I'd like to import the spreadsheet
again and override the previous dates, but the tasks remain on the old dates
as well as being added to the new dates. Is there a way to remedy this?
