Stop the green Recurrence icon from cluttering my calendar?

Default Stop the green Recurrence icon from cluttering my calendar?

Is there any way to block this icon from appearing next to my recurring
appointments? It takes up a lot of space and generally slows me down when I'm
quickly trying to assess all my appointments in the month view.
