Default recurring appointments

I have many service jobs that are set to recurr every 3 or 4 months. I can
select any one of the recuurring appointments and add/change the notes for
that job when completed but when I come to view or print the daily view it
says "The contents of this appointment have been updated,. Open this
appointment to see the updated text."
I really need to be able to see the changed notes that I entered for this
one occurence as I print out the daily view to make up an hardcopy diary. Any
help would be much appreciated.
