Default edit future recurring appointments

With Palm Desktop, I am able to edit a recurring appointment and then select
whether the change applies to All instances, or just to current, or to
current and all future appointments. This is a very useful feature. How
does one do this with Microsoft Outlook 2003? (MSOutlook only seems capable
of changing all the appointments even the ones that have already taken place
in the past....not a useful feature.) Please advise. Thanks!
