Default Memory-resident reminder?

Hi all,

Works 8.0 included a calendar, and that calendar had a small memory-resident
component which would alert me to appointments even without having to have
Outlook running in the background. This was called "wkcalrem".

Does Outlook 2007 have such a feature? I don't need notification of
incoming e-mails, just a reminder of my appointments.

Outlook 2007 is visually much more attractive than Works Calendar 8.0, but
I'll switch back in a heartbeat without that feature (or a free, possibly
3rd-party, plugin alternative).

Thanks!
