I've been given the job of consolidating various appointment items to create
shareable schedule files for a convention next year. This data will be sent to me as data file for import into Outlook. I may also add some items by creating them on my PDA while attending meetings. My problem is that the current version of Outlook that I have ( 2002 SP3 ) will not export any item not created by itself ( for example any imported from a file or from my PDA during sync ). The ics file is created but it is empty and I get an error message. Can anyone confirm the Outlook 2007 wil export ALL items regardless of their original source? |

What form will these "shareable schedule files" take? What form will the "sent as data files" data take? If at all possible, you should be avoiding import/export. -- Brian Tillman |

This allows them to plan their attendance at the various events. ( We'll probably have 5 or 6 venues with events running in multiples of half hour blocks. ) Not sure what format the input will be in although given it's being shown in the programme book as a grid I assume it may be a CSV file output from a spreadsheet. I'm not bothered about sorting out input / output, I was just curious to see if the bug in Outlook 2002 had been fixed. |

( We'll probably have 5 or 6 venues with events running in multiples of half hour blocks. ) You will need a third-party tool for this because Outlook won't export vCal files and will only save individual events as iCal files. Not sure what format the input will be in although given it's being shown in the programme book as a grid I assume it may be a CSV file output from a spreadsheet. Outlook should be able to import a CSV with no problem. I'm not bothered about sorting out input / output, I was just curious to see if the bug in Outlook 2002 had been fixed. You don't state the error message you're getting and exactly what you're doing to get it. -- Brian Tillman |
