Brian,
I checked those settings and those boxes are unchecked, yet the clocks still appear. Any other suggestions? If I enable Clocks, I do see two sets.

I'm thinking something else is adding the clocks. Are they identical? Is

Not identical- 1 is Start, and the other is End, for meetings and
appointments across several days..........Single Days are not affected......no Clocks in Subject Field......I agree something else is at work, but what?
