Default Turn off reminders

I have an Outlook 2003/Exchange 2003 environment.
One of my company's execs will be traveling and wants to turn off any
appointment/calendar reminders while she is traveling (and connecting over a
VPN connection).
How do I set her client up so that she won't receive any reminders?
Tools - Options - unchecking Default Reminder button in Calendar options
section didn't do the trick.

Thanks

Default Turn off reminders

Testing indicates that this method seems to have had the desired effect of
turning off reminders.
Searching on this board - before posting - for a way to do this didn't turn
up any solutions so the info you provided is much appreciated.
